Up coming events...3rd United Nations (UN) model 2016

ZUNA TO HOST 3rd UN MODEL SESSION 




 HARARE-  On the 9th of September 2016 ZUNA will be hosting the 3rd edition of model UN at the Under the theme Implementing the Transformative Agenda (SDGs) were government officials and people from all walks of life  are expected to grace the event. 
  
Model UN Sessions are organized in high schools and universities to promote an informed understanding of the work of the UN, among pupils and students. Participants act as delegates and present key issues of the UN Agenda in simulated meetings of the General Assembly, Security Council and other UN Bodies. In Zimbabwe, such sessions have been held by Universities,  Experience shows that even pupils from high schools can participate in the Model UN.






ZUNA has  held more than two successful Model UN for both High Schools and Universities.  So far, ZUNA has managed to engage students from both high schools and universities to participate and articulate topical issues which include the promotion of gender and promoting peace and justices among the few.

ZIMBABWE UNITED NATIONS ASSOCIATION -(ZUNA)


BINDURA UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE EDUCATION (BUSE) - CHAPTER   ORIENTATION 2016 

HARARE-( ZUNA) BUSE chapter managed to recruit more than one hundred new students who were enrolled at Bindura University of Science Education during an orientation session.

Speaking at the orientation session  the Youth President of (ZUNA) Miss Hlengisile Jiyane encouraged many youths to join this movement  as it is a people`s movement for the United Nations furthering its objectives and mandates directly to the grassroots.
  
Under the theme implementing the Transformative Agenda 2030.New students at Bindura University who joined (ZUNA) are going to be members of the club for the next four years focusing on  Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 5 &16. SDG 5 ; which seeks to promote Gender Equality ensuring that there is an end to discrimination against women and girls. SDG  16 ;which promotes peace and justice among citizens aiming at reducing all forms of violence and finding solutions to solve conflict and insecurity           

Other clubs present at the orientation includes Boost which advocates for drug abuse,and Saywhat to mention a few.
